Cancer Care is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to provide free professional help to people with all cancers through counseling, education, information and referral and direct financial assistance.

Cancer Hope Network Provides free, confidential, one-on-one support to people with cancer and their families. 1-877-HOPENET (467-3638).

Cancer Lifeline
6522 Fremont Avenue N. 24-hour hotline: 206-297-2500, statewide 1-800-255-5505. Trained volunteers provide information and support for people with cancer and their caregivers. Also provides support programs and classes for patients and families in the Seattle area. A United Way agency.

Corporate Angel Network Provides free air transportation for cancer patients traveling to and from recognized cancer treatment centers in the United States; uses empty seats on corporate jets, regardless of patients' financial resources. 1-914-328-1313

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is committed to reaching out to those with leukemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma in meaningful ways. Programs have been developed to meet the needs of patients, families, oncology professionals and other concerned individuals. 206-628-0777

Positive Solutions The mission of Positive Solutions is to empower individuals to make educated choices, remove disability-related barriers and enhance their lives through self-advocacy. Positive Solutions has implemented one of two Benefits Planning Assistance and Outreach Programs (BPAO) in Washington State funded by a Cooperative Agreement with the Social Security Administration. 260-322-8181

The nation's leading organization that builds healthy communities that celebrate and empower mixed heritage people and families. National Bone Marrow Transplant Link (BMT Link) 20411 W 12 Mile Rd, Suite 108, Southfield, MI 48076; 1-800-LINK-BMT (1-800-546-5268). Provides information and support for bone marrow transplant patients and their families.

Northwest Melanoma Symposium  The 2nd annual NW Melanoma Symposium, geared toward melanoma patients, families, and supporters, is being held at the FHCRC campus in Seattle on Saturday, May 9th, 2009 from 8am - 3:30 pm.

Survivorship Program at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, 206-667-2814. The Survivorship Program provides support for the emotional, physical and practical issues that people recovering from cancer face. This progressive, comprehensive support for survivorship issues helps people battling cancer live life on their own terms. Supported by the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

Voices of Seattle 253 632 5413, P.O. Box 24254, Federal Way, WA. 98093. The Voices of Seattle is an affiliate of the Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA). Our goal is to increase the public's awareness of the second leading cause of cancer death among men and women.

Y ME National Breast Cancer Organization 1-800-221-2141 Provides information and support to those touched by breast cancer, their families, health care professionals and the public, and advocates for scientific research and for the rights of people with breast cancer.

Did You Know?

FACT: Gilda's Club Worldwide and the local Clubhouse raise approximately 75% of their operating funds from individuals who believe in our mission (of course, this does include a few celebrities!). The balance comes from corporations and foundations who support our program.

MYTH: Gilda's Club gets a lot of money from celebrities.
